CAPITA TO HOST PLATFORM DUE DILIGENCE DAY FOR ADVISERS

Capita Financial Software (Capita) will host a platform comparison and due diligence day at The Tower of London on 9th June 2011. The event is sponsored by Elevate, AXA Wealth’s wrap platform, and will focus on the FSA’s due diligence requirements for platform advice.

In addition to speaking slots from the hosts and main sponsors; Aviva, Royal London 360, Fidelity FundsNetwork and Holly Mackay of The Platforum will present on topics including client segmentation, regulation and the past, present and future of the platform market.

Newly appointed Managing Director of Capita Financial Software, Adam Byford, said:

“With the back-drop of CP 10/29, it is important that advisers are not only conducting adequate due diligence relating to platforms but that they are also considering all aspects of each proposition, including the types of wrappers and funds available.

“The due diligence day is a unique opportunity to gain real insight into the platform market from platform operators, product providers and industry experts.”

Martyn Harrison, Professional Edge Manager, AXA Wealth, commented:

“Events such as this due diligence day are very important for our industry, particularly as we edge nearer to the RDR. Having advisers, networks, platforms and technology companies together under one roof promises to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

In addition to presentations on the wrap market, there will be a live demonstration of the latest version of Synaptic Comparator – Capita’s comparison and due diligence tool.

Since the service originally launched in July 2010, Capita has made a number of enhancements, including the addition of ‘family assets under administration’ functionality which allows advisers to factor in associated discounts for their clients at platform level.

Byford added:

“We are extremely pleased with the enhancements we have made to Comparator and look forward to showing advisers how the system can help them research and compare these complex propositions.”

Synaptic Comparator will be rolled-out to all SimplyBiz members on a trial basis over the next two months.

The due diligence day is free for advisers to attend. For more information or to book places, visit: www.capitafinancialsoftware.co.uk/platform-due-diligence-day
