Technical Connection is dedicated to the acquisition, storage, retrieval and creative use of information and intelligence that is relevant to the support and development of your business. We are not authorised to do investment business and so concentrate on key tax and legal issues as part of the financial planning process. We can thus work in complete harmony with you to ensure that your clients get the best advice possible.
The range of services available from Technical Connection and its associated businesses are constantly reviewed, monitored and, where necessary, reinvented or supplemented.
At the core of all of our relationships with financial advisers is Techlink Interactive, our on-line knowledge management system.
Techlink provides you with a comprehensive (and searchable) library of information, daily bulletins on developments of relevance to your industry, multimedia learning, continuous and professional development tools, and quarterly newsletters for your clients and professional adviser contacts. Techlink will also be your 'gateway' for accessing consultancy including report writing and our ‘Ask’ service.
Techlink Interactive delivers a comprehensive technical library, daily bulletins providing news and analysis, multimedia learning and professional development tools, client and professional newsletters and (through the optional ASK service) access to experienced consultants to help you to deliver technically accurate solutions. ASK expert opinion and advice on key issues affecting our industry today.
A constantly updated comprehensive library of personal and corporate tax, trusts, pensions and other financial planning information and insight covering the fundamentals through to advanced planning. Each subject area is broken down into manageable topics - each topic covering a separate area of the subject. Dynamic links within the topics will take you to other relevant areas within Techlink, as well as linking directly to any source material we think you may find useful.
Bulletins are produced each day giving a complete analysis of relevant developments in tax, trusts, pensions and other financial planning-related subjects. Bulletins include a commentary on how these developments will affect you, your clients, or the financial services sector, and how this information may help you within your business. "From the Papers", a daily bulletin, also gives you direct links to relevant articles from the broadsheet newspapers of that day (and over the weekend) so that you can be assured of knowing the subjects your clients may also be reading about.
With a continually expanding list of topics the Need to Know service gives you executive summaries of subjects of high importance and potential complexity - most of which will be covered in greater depth within the main library and bulletins. These are compact topics targeted at those areas with current strong consumer interest, giving you the reason why you need to know the information and what you need to know.
Techlearn is an on-line learning system that enables financial services practitioners to maintain and develop competence in high value areas of business through audio/visual presentations.
These short animated lectures consist of a powerpoint presentation with a specialist lecturer explaining the topic verbally. Each lecture can be started, paused or stopped to fit into your schedule, with links through to our Techlink Information Library to give you more in-depth knowledge of the subject if you need it.
The Techcast section contains audio files on a wide range of tax and financial planning issues for you to download and listen to on your PC or on your mp3 player. You can subscribe to the podcasts with your web browser or iTunes software.
Each quarter we produce a client and a professional newsletter. These newsletters feature articles written by our consultants on relevant developments on tax, tax planning, trusts, pensions and financial planning with other financial products. These articles include a commentary on how the developments will affect your clients or your professional connections. As well as informing, these newsletters are aimed at encouraging clients and professionals to contact advisers. Downloadable in both PDF and Word format.
ASK (a premium additional service to the basic Techlink package) offers subscribers the ability to ask specialist consultants case-related or more generalised questions through a secure area of the site. Questions and resultant answers are stored within a database. Questions asked by other users are also available to view on an anonymous basis making this section an infinitely expandable question and answer database.
This service is available exclusively to Techlink subscribers. It is quoted and charged for on a case by case basis.
